Ash is a favorite wood as it is used for all aspects of woodworking from hobbyist furniture project through architectural millworks. A species with an open grain, it's texture is similar to oak.

Ash is relatively dense hardwood with good working and finishing properties. It offers many advantages due to it's strength, hardness, weight, and shock resistance.

Ash is second only to hickory for use in the production of tool handles and is used in antique vehicle parts, canoe paddles, snowshoes, boats, doors, and cabinets.
